    Lock 9

I know this is a hot topic. However there are many positives that will happen in the long run from this. The long term economic impact that the completion of the project will have, may not be as much they've estimated, but overall it will still bring a ton of positives, while making sacrifices short term. I agree in the transparency of the funding , and it should be disclosed more properly, other than that, what's the biggest complaint?
Ever heard the saying, gotta spend money to make money? Again, I'm not saying that the project has been fully transparent with funds and everything, but this could potentially bring in so much for the city, why complain about it so much?

My personal belief is that Lock 9 is a colossal mistake.

However, at this point it's over halfway done and we can either throw that money away at a cost of over 50% that will never be recouped and essentially lose out on what was already spent...or spend what's needed to complete it and hope that it pays off or at least breaks even in the end.

I think the biggest mistake was taking out a loan against enterprise funds for a park. There is virtually no ROI on a park and those funds could have been put to far better use for the welfare of the citizens. But what's done is done. I had a teacher back in high school who taught a lesson I still have a lot of respect for today which is that it's pointless to harp on something that's in the past. It's already happened and you can complain all you want, but you can't go back in time and change it. So stop focusing on what should have been done and instead focus on what are you going to do NOW?

That's the mindset the people need to take... the decisions have already been made and the money has been spent. How are we going to proceed from here?

    My $.02.

I see what you are saying about no ROI, but you gotta say yet. There's the apartments that are going to be built, the economic impact to local businesses during events will be immeasurable, I could go on, but currently at work..I'll try to do more later
